Ethio-Asia is Ethiopia’s first privately-owned manufacturer of personal care products, including soap and detergent, and the only native manufacturer with a nationally recognized brand. Ethio-Asian Industries SC, formerly known as East Africa Kality Soap and Detergent factory, is located in the heart of the capital at Kality, Addis Ababa. The 1st private sector factory in soaps and detergents started by well-known industrialist and EAHSC chairman Mr. Bizuayehu Tadele to manufacture Laundry soaps, Detergents and Toilet soaps.

Ethio-Asia made partnership agreement with Zoscales Partners (ZP) to meet its objective of becoming strong player within the personal care space by aspiring the right niche market of the lower and middle income class of Ethiopia.

The factory is located in the Eastern part of Adds Ababa and comprises of Home Care and Personal Care production sections. Diana beauty soap and Sunshine, Abyssinia, Pigeon laundry bar soaps are some of the products and there will be new products development in this and coming budget years.

It is a well-established Fast Moving Consuming Goods, (FMCG) company in Ethiopia that manufactures soap products and distribute to different regions around the country with it’s main product portfolio under home and personal care.

Shareholders

Currently Ethio-Asian is partnering up with Zoscales Partners (ZP) to meet its objective of becoming strong player within the personal care space by aspiring the right niche market of the lower and middle income class of Ethiopia. Currently, the shareholders of the company are:

  6. B. S. Shetty started his career in 1980 with the Britannia and Nutrine group (biggest biscuit and confectionary manufacturer in India. He has over 38 years experience with over 28 years in East and Sub Saharan Africa. (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia.
